Prophecy: Let it Rain Salvation, Favor and Vindication

I heard the Lord say, “Let it rain!” We are in a kairos time for prayer answers, and now is not the time to let the pedal off the metal. Now is the time to press in, to press past the weariness and the flesh and make another push. Now is the time to believe God for the first fruits of the prayer seeds we’ve been sowing—perhaps even for years.

The prophet Zechariah wrote, “Ask the Lord for rain In the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone” (Zechariah 10:1)

In the spirit, I heard the sound of the abundance of rain. Through our persistent importunity—our refusal to back down from the promises of God—we will see an end to what seems to many like a “prayer answer” drought that has led some cities into spiritual famine. God is saying, “The drought is over.” God has a spiritual awakening in mind.

Consider how this played out in Elijah’s day. After defeating the false prophets at Mt. Carmel with a spectacular display of God’s power, Elijah went to Ahab and announced he heard the sound of a mighty rainstorm coming. What did he do next? He prayed it in. We read in 1 Kings 19:42-46:

“But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees. Then he said to his servant, ‘Go and look out toward the sea.’ The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, ‘I didn’t see anything.’

“Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, ‘I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.’ Then Elijah shouted, ‘Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’

“And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel. Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.”

Think about it for a minute: Israel had been living under brass heavens because of the wickedness of Ahab and Jezebel (see Deuteronomy 28:23). But when the people of God, the Israelites, repented it broke open the heavens and God sent the rain, ending the drought and the famine.

Many intercessors have been standing on 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” I believe we’re in a season of God hearing from heaven, forgiving sin healing lands—and spiritual awakening.

Indeed, we are in the time of the latter rain. God is saying, “It’s a season of prayer answers, so keep asking.” We may hear a rumbling in the spirit. We may see evidence of God moving. And we may have to engage in gut-wrenching prayer and even travail to see the end of the drought, but God is promising to do His part if we will enter in. We won’t see every prayer answer to every petition and supplication we’ve ever made in this season, but God is prepared to pour out. The bowls are tipping.

God is the rainmaker. He is the prayer answerer. He is the petition signer. He is asking us to ask and keep on asking until we see the famine end. You never know if your next prayer will be the one that tips over the bowls in heaven and pours out prayer answers—even miracles—beyond what your eye can see, your ear can hear or even ever entered into your heart. Remember, rain is a symbol of God’s blessing.

Here are our prayer points. You can join us for a prayer call over these points for your city here.

Pray a prayer of repentance so God can position your city for the rain. Repent on behalf of the sins of your city.

Pray for the favor of God over His intercessors to be as a cloud of the latter rain, refreshing and inspiring them to press on (Job 29:23).

Pray that God would send the latter rain in due season, the first rain and the latter rain, over cities He has targeted for revival in this season (see Deuteronomy 11:14).

Pray for a mighty downpour of awakening and revival in cities of the nations (Job 37:6).

Pray that clouds rain down righteousness in churches around the world (see Isaiah 45:8).

Pray for the rain of vindication for weary intercessors (see Joel 2:23).

Pray for the Lord to come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth (Hosea 6:3).

Pray that God would rain down conviction on lost souls, so they would turn to Christ (John 16:8).

Awakening Prayer Hubs, a prayer movement supported by Cindy Jacobs, Loe Engle, Mike Bickle and many others, is looking for 1,000 intercessors to raise ups prayer leaders. Learn more at www.awakeningprayerhubs.com.
